Sorry to have to say the publication of "White Heaven Women" and regular posting to this blog has been placed on hold for a little while. I realise many of you have been waiting patiently to read it, but this cannot be helped. More news as I receive it.

I am able to tell you the front cover of "White Heaven Women" is awesome! You're gonna love it too. Once again, I'm sorry for the delayed publication date.

Sorry I haven't posted for a while. I've been busy doing spreadsheets for employment and publishers edits. Back on board now.

Will post news of my soon to be released novel, "White Heaven Women" when I hear it from my publisher. I can't wait to discover the release date and see its front cover. It will be for sale as an e-book first and then as a paperback later on.

I will be adding more of my lovely Twitter followers to my blog tomorrow. Tonight I am going to have a little fun playing a game on line. I deserve it after working so hard this past couple of weeks!

QUESTION

How would you feel if you were pregnant? I'd enjoy reading your answers because certain cultures today still frown upon pregnancy before marriage.

As for me and my culture, well, thank heaven life isn't as harsh now-a-days as it was back in Lady Constance's era in 1899. Most of us have a much freer lifestyle than she did.

A slightly longer post today in memory of my deceased sisters birthday today, Friday, 2nd September.
This is another excerpt from Sally's journey through Whitehaven town centre to the past life meeting.

"Just a trick of the light," she said with a huff.

Through the curtain of rain she noticed the town hall clock and then saw a vintage Rolls Royce parked outside the White Heaven Weekly employees' hall. She smiled speculating a celebrity was inside.

But who in the hell would want to visit this remote hellhole?

She galloped up the hall steps and fumbled to find the door handle.
Without warning, the ground shook with a deafening rumble. She turned around and saw smoke soaring up from a massive hole close to the old car.

Bloody heck, that car could've been destroyed. And shit, I could've been hit.

With a mighty push, she flung the door open and bolted inside like a three-year-old filly in season. She ran down the hallway until she found the meeting room. It was dark inside except for three diffused lights on the far side. When her eyes adjusted to the low lighting, she realized the room was jam-packed with people.
"Hello and welcome," said the doorman. "Still stormy out, I see."
Sally answered with a mumble.
"There's one seat left in the front row, miss, on the far end right beside the stage." The doorman pointed out the way.
"Thank you." She stuffed the soggy ticket into the man's hand.

When she found her seat no one had noticed she was soaked except for a wrinkled woman in a wheelchair on the end of the same row. She gave Sally a sympathetic smile. The old woman looked ancient, reminiscent of an Egyptian mummy. Sally cracked a grin in return, more relieved to be out of the wicked downpour than to be friendly.

This was just sent to me in an email. It has nothing to do with my novel but I thought it was so funny, I just HAD to post it before I went to sleep tonight.

THE PASTOR'S ASS

The Pastor entered his donkey in a race and it won.

The Pastor was so pleased with the donkey that he entered it in the race
again and it won again.

The local paper read:
PASTOR'S ASS OUT FRONT.

The Bishop was so upset with this kind of
publicity that he ordered the Pastor not to enter the donkey in another race.

The next day the local paper headline read:
BISHOP SCRATCHES PASTOR'S ASS.

This was too much for the Bishop so he
ordered the Pastor to get rid of the donkey.

The Pastor decided to give it to a Nun in a nearby convent.

The local paper, hearing of the news, posted the following headline the
next day:

NUN HAS BEST ASS IN TOWN.

The Bishop fainted.

He informed the Nun that she would have to get rid of the donkey so she sold it to a farmer for $10.
The next day the paper read:

NUN SELLS ASS FOR $10.

This was too much for the Bishop so he ordered the Nun to buy back the donkey and lead it to the plains
where it could run wild.

The next day the headlines read:

NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE.

The Bishop was buried the next day.

The moral of the story is . . . being concerned about public opinion can
bring you much grief and misery . . even shorten your life.

So be yourself and enjoy life. Stop worrying about everyone else's
ass and you'll be a lot happier and live longer!

The following is a short excerpt from Sally's journey through Whitehaven town centre in an alarming Cumbrian storm, as she made her way on foot to a past life meeting.

Within minutes, the wind changed course and howled like a gnashing banshee. Paranoia gripped her. She looked for the owner of the cries, totally convinced a demonic spirit was inside the squall. Her eyes darted everywhere as blood coursed through her veins.

But she saw no spirit wailing in the wind.

The flattened garbage can induced a flashback of a dream when Sally saw herself crushed to death as a baby. She didn’t understand any of her dreams, least of all that one.

Gripped with fear, she leapt from the doorway at breakneck speed and sprinted down King Street, as if chased by the hounds of Hades. She stopped to catch her breath in the entryway of the old Glessal's shop. It was in grave disrepair. The timber door was decayed and flaking away, and cement from the keystone had fallen off, making a messy pile on the ground. She peered through the window and beheld a surreal blue glow. It was shaped like a person.

It moved.

... Sally Witherspane spies screaming women racing from a thick fog, their blood soaked skirts trail on the muddy road. A ghoulish creature with cruel red eyes slithers into the walls of an old building. She glances at her own feet and sees a stiff blue skirt touching the top of beautifully beaded shoes.

... The sound of horse’s hooves clip-clop down a cobbled street and the stench of fresh horse manure float in the damp night air. The odour explodes in her nostrils. She can't escape the smell.

... A woman’s voice calls out, “Lady Sarah, it’s late. You’ll catch a chill. Come inside. You don’t want the red-eyed devil to find you and steal you away.”

"WHITE HEAVEN WOMEN" is fiction, with light and dark paranormal elements. The setting is mostly Whitehaven and surrounding areas in Cumbria, England and begins in the year 1885. It's about three fictional women's life stories spanning more than a century.

In 1899, Lady Constance Witherspoon is forced to marry to give Beth, her baby a name.

Beth has cerebral palsy, except people accuse her of demonic possession when she is a toddler.

Constance's husband Matthew, abandons her for a scarlet woman in 1904. Nineteen year old Constance and five year old Beth, are forced to live in a workhouse. Underfed and overworked, Constance becomes gravely ill and is eventually admitted into an asylum.

Angelic blue spectres help the women and protect Beth from a flesh eating demon that materialises in the workhouse.

Sally Witherspane is adopted as a baby in 1971. She is not only Beth's twin sister, she is also her half sister....

Blog goes walkabout

Well, either I'm growing too old for blogging or technology in general, or this site has me going barmy! It has taken me more than an hour to sign into this blog, this was after I'd spent hours trying to find it in the first place. This darn site kept telling me my blog had gone walk about, that it had magically disappeared into the ethers of the world wide spiders web that surrounds our bonnie planet. It wanted me to create a new blog. Hmm. This has happened ever since I set up a new email address on gmail quite some time ago.

You see, this devilish fiend named Blog, wants me to go to my gmail inbox to read email, and I want to visit my blog and post!

(Before you get confused too, I use a different email address for my blog.)

No wonder I cant get any blogging done though...lol. Do other bloggers out there have similar trouble?

Its oh so simple for you readers, because all you have to do is read. We, the authors and hunters of our blogs, spend hours trying to find it and then another hour or more trying to break into it, with only a keyboard. We don't have the luxury of guns, bombs or even old fashioned spears, we just have a keyboard and soon, busted knuckles as we smash our keyboard throwing it against the wall in frustration. Heck, blogging is like breaking into Fort Knox!

Now then folks, heres something else I discovered tonight too. Apparently, my gmail email address has a blog, as well. It did this all by its little self, without me. Maybe it was my cat? Anyways, this site said I have a car cleaning company. Me? with a CAR CLEANING COMPANY? Ha. The double take I suffered while reading that practically ripped the head from my already whiplashed neck! Gee whizz, I cant even clean my own car, let alone run a car cleaning company.

Darn internet. It has me awake half the night searching for something that it says does not exist, but yet here I am writing this. (Finally) I was going to post something else for you to read, but....

Yeah yeah, its after 1 AM but I was determined to post something before I went to beddy bye byes. I dont know how long it will take me to get into my blog the next time I feel the urge to post. You cant say I don't have stamina. Night, night.

A home is found for Bridget, her babies and the young homeless man!

A temporary home has been found for the young homeless man, his beautiful dog Bridget and her babies! People rallied around to help, and now they all have a place to live until the puppies are old enough to leave their mother. This will see them through at least two months of winter. Yay! I will not divulge the area he is living in, but will say they are residing with a family in a house. Thank heavens, because it is snowing right now. I'm sure this young man will get on his feet, when he finds a job and a place of his own to live. Thing is, mostly the places left to rent are either far too expensive or will not allow dogs/cats.

I might be able to post some photographs of Bridget and her babies, soon. :-)

I feel for the people who must live outdoors, suffering the elements of nature. One nameless senior who uses an electric wheelchair, told me he can understand some homeless people taking drugs to numb them through the bitter nights, as all seasons can be cold, wet or windy at night. When its snowing like now, the nights are bitter. Brr, I'm so very glad I have a warm bed to sleep in.

Society call the homeless "lost causes" etc. I simply call them homeless, because there is not enough apartments or rooms for them to rent! Besides, there seems to be a hatred for animals in rentals this side of the world. How strange, when we label dogs as "mans best friend."

If the shoe was on the other foot (and the scales can easily swing through losing ones job) then any homeowner with a suite to rent to anyone without a pet, could easily become a member of an army of homeless in Victoria, with their own pet.

You might scoff at my last remark, but it is believed we are all ONE paycheck away from homelessness.

I've actually met some homeless ex-homeowners.

New life springs forth at "Our Place" Victoria BC

It's such a long time since I blogged. I've been busy trying to find a job and writing. I can't believe how life grabbed me by the damn throat and dragged me along for the ride!

As a volunteer at "Our Place" in Victoria, I felt a little nervous to be close to two men arguing outside. While they yelled at each other, a mini miracle was taking place--Bridget, a street dog, gave birth to nine puppies under the shelter of "Our Place" forecourt! She had gathered quite a crowd of admirers. Lots of aww's and oooh's were heard above those two damn men arguing, oblivious to this wonderful life blessing taking place. Their yelling didn't sway the momma dog, she got on with the business of bringing life into the world. The "proud grandparent," the dogs loving owner, helped her to clean the pups and move each one from one teat to the next, in rotation. Those nine tiny healthy looking puppies were shiny and new, and have been spoken for already before the first one was even born!

However, they had nowhere to go last night and a storm was brewing. As luck would have it, the young man was given a place to sleep indoors and was allowed to take his newly born family with him. Now they have a warm dry place to sleep until Friday, then he and his young family are back to sleeping on the streets and will be moved along periodically by the police, who are just doing their job and following orders. How would this young man move Bridget and nine puppies with just a back pack and a small box? My heart goes out to them.

Just imagine, these new born puppies first taste of life, freezing in a doorway or under a tree.

The distraught momma dog frantically trying to keep her babies warm and dry.

The young man, who loves his pet so much, gave her his own warm cover to sleep on. And momma dog eats before he does.

It brings a lump to my throat.

Some amongst you might say the SPCA should take the young mans dogs and give them a better home. To the dog owning street people, their dogs are more than dogs, they're their family, their protector, their friend.

Besides, I've read there's an abundance of unwanted pets in Victoria's SPCA. Where? Heck, not amongst many street people who look after their own, like they are their own blood family. Many of them prefer to keep their pet, than live in an apartment without their beloved animal. I commend them, but I couldn't do it myself, I'm a simpering coward. As a senior woman who is used to sleeping in a snug bed, with my two kitties at my feet, I can't even begin to put into words the love these people feel for their four legged families.

The Victoria government must do something. I've seen parents with children living outside in tents. Is this a third world we live in? Why are they building new bridges worth millions of dollars, when there are so many people homeless? Why cant they use this money to build homes for people to live in, not something that looks good for tourists? It's beyond me.

Driving over the Malahat in my 19 year old car

Yesterday I drove over the notorious Malahat to attend a new writing group, the Vancouver Island Chapter of the Romance Writers of America being held in Nanaimo. I didn't think I wrote romance... but thought what the heck, I'll join. Perhaps the romance writers group will be the perfect thing to help me write the "spicy" chapters of my story better? I guess time will tell its own story.

Anyway, it was a lovely sunny morning yesterday. The birds were singing and the sun was already hot when my alarm clock woke me. After showering I ate breakfast and set off on the arduous trip for a 19 year old car. Local people would tell you the Malahat Drive is a killer. My meeting started at 11AM. While motoring up the Malahat I heard a loud noise coming from underneath my car. It was like the exhaust was about to crack open. My first thoughts were, "Oh bloody hell, what now? Maybe I should turn back." Apprehensive? Scared? Yes. My car doesn't go for a service until tomorrow.

Well, I'm a spunky little Brit, so I continued on and arrived safely. It was a great meeting with some lively members. I was glad I didn't turn back, although I worried about my return trip.

One of my cousins live in Nanaimo, so I killed two birds with one stone and went to visit her and her hubby afterwards. We had a great visit and a nice dinner together. As I had my laptop with me she asked to hear some of my audio book trailers. They both enjoyed them saying they knew why my reciting voice is popular this side of the world! How nice. I didn't arrive back in Victoria until 10PM. Boy, I was tired but I slept like a baby last night.

This is the first ever tube I ever made when I was recovering from really bad injuries and also a cold. So you will hear my nose is a bit bunged up..ha. Years ago mMy doctor told me I'd never move my arms or work again. A miracle happened, I did find employment! Yay! Okay, it wasn't exactly the type of work that I wanted to do but I did work again.

"What Heaven means to me" written and read by Jessie B Tyson

This is a story I wrote for Rosemary, an elderly member of my local writers group who is dreadfully sick. Seems the hospital cannot do any more for her now. Last week Rosemary sent members a project, asking us to write a short story about what heaven meant to each of us. When I finished writing mine I decided to turn it into a video, so she could watch it on TV in the comfort of her bed. This was when I had the pleasure of meeting her for the very first time on 9th March 2009 when I presented her with my story in person. While viewing it she nodded, smiling with approval. It was the best critique I could wish for!

The picture on my video below is me as a child. Cripes! I look like "the great toothless one!" ha.
